PERU - BOLIVIA

Another Kind Of Encounters

Peru and Bolivia of Today

Attraction’s travel vision is not a mere discovery of the central points of interest a destination has to offer, but favors a deeper look at a country by punctuating and enhancing your visits with the encounter of local men and women whose professions or passions are complementary elements that will allow you to understand the past, present and future realities of Peru and Bolivia.

Chefs, photographers, weavers, breeders of “cuys,” llamas, alpacas, Andean farmers, mine workers in Potosi and in the salt deserts of Coipasa and Uyuni, Afro-Bolivian coca growers in the Yungas, Peruvian and Bolivian artists, traditional musicians or new bands, fashion designers, artsy visionaries … Take your pick, Attraction can connect you.

We invite you to consult our sample itineraries in Peru and Bolivia, where some of our privileged encounters are already integrated. For “a la carte” handcrafted journeys, our team will advise on the best options of encounters according to your personal interests and expectations. On demand, Attraction can also provide tailored encounter options with locals and/or professionals around themes linked to a profession or passion (e.g. Textile or mining industry, crafts production, religious art etc.)

On the footsteps of the Moche civilization, we offer a journey through time on the northern coast of Peru, in the town of Chiclayo, in the expert company of Walter Alba and his research team. Walter Alba is a world-renown archeologist, who, in 1987, discovered the Lord of Sipan Tomb (A.D. 100 to 700), a major archeological discovery equivalent to the one of King Tut in Egypt. With Walter Alba, or one of his closest collaborators, you will explore the site of Sipan, the museum of the Lord of Sipan Tomb and the Bruning museum, as well the archeological sites of Ventarron and Chotuna.

Peru – Astronomy Passion: Nazca
In the arid “pampa” of the Pacific coast, you will fly in a helicopter over the famous Nazca and Palpa lines, UNESCO World Heritage. The geoglyphs and lines are the enigmatic traces left by the Nazca civilization (Between 300 B.C. to A.D. 900). Ritual astronomical markings? Mapping of underground waters? Some even think alien landing strips…the mystery remains unsettled.

We offer an in-depth discovery of the Nazca enigma in the expert company of Barthélemy d’Ans, astronomer and president of the Peruvian Astronomy Institute and the Maria Reiche planetariums, who will escort you during your over flight of the lines, as well as guide you during your visit of the Nazca planetarium where you will enjoy the amazing starry skies of Peru.
