A luxurious ‘retro’ atmosphere with an elegant decoration in the style of the 1920's Pullman trains, a first-class service onboard, an observation bar car and two dining cars, are some elements of the incontestable charm of the Orient Express trains, Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer. Departing from Cuzco, the first one connects to the lost city of Machu Picchu, while the second one to Lake Titicaca.
To reach Machu Picchu, the Hiram Bingham train, named after the famous American explorer, follows a serpentine railroad in the most breathtaking landscapes. It chases the Urubamba-Vilcanota River, traverses the Andes dominated by majestic snowcapped mountains and finally stops at the entrance of the Amazon.
To reach Lake Titicaca, the Andean Explorer also follows an amazing path. It crosses through the verdant Andean valleys around Cuzco, reaches the “La Raya” pass at 14,200 feet high and continues on through the “Altiplano,” the Aymara region of alpaca and llama breeders.
