Along this itinerary, history will unfold as you discover the heart of the ancient Inca Empire, with its breath-taking natural beauty and awe-inspiring archaeological wonders, and appreciate the artistic legacy of the Spanish colonial era. This trip is enhanced by 4* and 5* luxury hotel stays, two spectacular train rides, and dinners at the finest gourmet restaurants for a guaranteed success.
The itinerary begins and ends in Lima, the bustling coastal capital and economic force of Peru, where you will glimpse the reminiscences of a time when it was the most important city of South America, the City of Kings.
From Lima, you will fly to Cuzco, where you will immerse yourself in the “Quechua” heart of the Andes Mountains. During your exploration of Cuzco and the Sacred Valley, with the expert company of your local guide, you will not only follow the footsteps of the Incas by strolling through the streets of their capital and visiting their most impressive archeological complexes, but also gain insight into their beliefs, customs, and knowledge. In the Sacred Valley, you will participate in a traditional weaving demonstration with a local community and experience the beauty of a “Peruvian Paso” horse show.
From Cuzco you will travel by train, in the direction of Puno, the “Aymara” center of Peru, where you will reach the shores of the legendary birthplace of the Inca civilization, Lake Titicaca. You will feel the enchantment of Lake Titicaca by wandering its tranquil immensity and by encountering the cultural guardians of its heritage with visits to the community of Taquile and to the Uros inhabitants of the floating islands. You will also enjoy a traditional dance and music demonstration from an “Ayarachis” indigenous group.
From Puno, you will be transferred by land to Juliaca airport and fly back to Lima for a last impression of the capital and visit to its colonial center, before leaving for your international destination.
